The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office has identified the body of a man found in April off of Interstate-17 in a waterhole. Back on April 8th, Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call of a dead body found about a mile east of Interstate-17 near mile marker 254. DPS was contacted by three women who were hiking in the area and found the body in a watering hole nearby. State troopers responded and confirmed the report. Deputies arrived at the scene soon after, ad found the body was partially submerged in the water and mud. The body was without clothes and personal items were found nearby. On July 12th, the body was identified as 40-year-old Velmurugan Ramnathan from Phoenix. Through the investigation it was found that the man died due to an accidental drowning, as there were no other injuries on his body.
