West Flagstaff Advances In The Little League Baseball State Tournament Wednesday

West Flagstaff refuses to lose as the move on in the 2023 Arizona Little League Baseball Tournament. West Flagstaff used a slew of pitchers and scored eight runs in the third inning to beat Mount Graham 15-3 in five innings last night. Cayleigh Begay went 2-for-2, scored three times and pitched an inning plus a batter and struck out three to lead West Flagstaff in the win. Next up for West Flagstaff is Ahwatukee. They beat Arcadia, lost to Lake Havasu and then beat Maricopa last night 11-1. West Flagstaff coach Shane Burcar says this will be a huge test for his team, but one they will be ready for. “There’s eight teams left in the state of Arizona and we are one of those teams,” Burcar says. He adds, “with eight teams left nothing is going to be easy. With Ahwatukee, they have a great reputation of being a powerhouse and I think we will be in good shape.” The game will be played at Dawson Field at Continental in East Flagstaff starting at 7:30 p.m. Admission is free, but we will have the game on the KAFF Sports YouTube Channel.
