Third-Seed Flagstaff Advances To The 4A Semifinals With Win Over Flowing Wells

The third-seeded Flagstaff Eagles advanced to the 4A girls basketball semifinals with a 66-42 win over 11th-seeded Flowing Wells Saturday night. The Eagles got out to an 11-0 lead in the first quarter with relentless defense and hitting open shots en route to a 26-10 lead after the first quarter. The Eagles would never trail and will advance to take on second-seeded Mesquite in one of the semifinals Tuesday in Gilbert. Jazmine Dugi led the Eagles with 17 points and Morningrain Honani added 14 in the win for the Eagles, who advance to their tenth 4A Final Four appearance under head coach Tyronne Johnson. The winner of Tuesday’s game will take on either Salpointe Catholic or Estrella Foothills for the 4A state title Thursday night at Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Phoenix.
