The State Forestry Department Is Awarding Grants To Numerous Fire Departments Statewide To Help With Wildfire Fighting Needs

The Arizona Department of Forestry is awarding 15 fire departments with more than $150-thousand grants, through the department’s Rural Fire Capacity grant program, to help needs regarding wildland firefighting. Of those departments, the Crown King Fire District received nearly five-thousand dollars for added PPE and tools. The Joseph City Fire District was also awarded nearly five-thousand dollars for PPE. The Mormon Lake Fire District was awarded nearly $10-thousand for PPE and equipment. The Walker Fire Department received nearly 17-hundred dollars for PPE and the City of Williams will receive just over 98-hundred dollars. The RFC program allows the state to help smaller agencies with critical purchases that often times their budgets do not allow for.
