Stage One Fire Restrictions Are Now In Effect For Northern Arizona Forests, Cities, Counties And Towns

Stage One fire restrictions are now in effect on the Coconino National Forest, Williams Ranger District of the Kaibab National Forest and the Prescott National Forest. The City of Flagstaff and Coconino County have also gone into Stage One restrictions, as well as cities and towns in Yavapai County. The restriction means, fires, campfires, charcoal, coal and wood stoves are prohibited in open spaces, except within a developed recreation site, or at private residences. Using a device that is fueled by propane, that can be turned on and off is allowed in areas that are barren or cleared of all surrounding flammable materials within three feet of the device. Smoking is also prohibited in public places, except within an enclosed vehicle, building or a developed recreation site. Fireworks are always prohibited on all national forest and state lands.
