The Grand Canyon National Park’s Search and Rescue team were called to action Tuesday when they responded to a call for a 13-year-old boy who had fallen 70-to-100 feet below Bright Angel Point. After determining a helicopter rescue wasn’t feasible, rescuers set up a rope rescue and were able to safely raise him to the top. The boy was flown to a pediatric trauma center for further care. He is currently recovering and is in stable condition.
