Social Media Threat Had Coconino High School On Heightened Alert Monday Morning

A social media threat had tensions a little up this morning. A threat circled around Snapchat early Monday morning saying there would be a shooting at “CHS” today. Officials at Coconino High School, coupled with Flagstaff Police say it’s a five year old threat and not intended for the Flagstaff school, but a high school in Memphis, Tennessee at the time. Flagstaff Unified School District Superintendent Michael Penca says “FUSD takes all threats seriously and prioritizes safety of students and staff.” Extra police officers were at Coconino as students began arriving to the school for classes.
