Many forest roads remain closed in the Coconino National Forest. Officials want to remind the public after personnel found broken locks on gates and tracks of drivers ignoring road closed signs, which have created deep ruts and damaged forest roads and sensitive areas. Damaged roads could prolong road closures as roads could stay closed until they are repaired. There is no set date on when forest roads will re-open. Roads will open back up as the weather dries out and the soil on and around forest roads harden enough to safely accept the weight of vehicles.
