Intermittent road closures of up to 30 minutes are expected to occur along Snowbowl Road this week, starting Monday. Crews will be working on a forest thinning project along a two-mile stretch up from where Snowbowl Road intersects with the Highway 180. The fuel reduction treatment is part of the Coconino National Forest’s effort to reduce the risk of wildfire on the San Francisco Peaks and improve forest health. The forest service asks that all passing motorists, bicyclists and pedestrians take caution of falling trees. Signs will be posted to alert the public when entering areas with falling trees or that might be experiencing road closures.
