Coconino National Forest fire managers are burning on the Horseshoe Project today. That burn will be 335 acres on the north side of the San Francisco Peaks. Minimal smoke impacts are expected. Another burn is set for Tuesday on the Sawmill Project east of Hutch Mountain and Lake Mary Road. Fire crews will burn about five-thousand acres on the project, that is expected carry through the week. Smoke could settle into the Kinnikinick Lake are as well as further east. Smoke could also settle in the Lake Mary Road, Mormon Lake Village, Stoneman Lake areas as well. Burns could be postponed due to high winds or humidity levels that doesn’t meet burn criteria.
