Prescott Valley Police Department Warns Community Of Fake Jewelry Sales

Prescott Valley Police are warning people about the ongoing sales of counterfeit jewelry. Reports have been made recently by customers who were deceived into purchasing fake jewelry, which they were told was real. Police say this not only defrauds customers but can also contribute to other illegal activities, such as fraud and money laundering. When purchasing jewelry, there are many different ways to identify a fake including unrealistically low prices, poor quality, lack of proper markings, suspicious sales venues and absence of any documentation, like a certificate or receipt. If you suspect you have purchased counterfeit jewelry, report it to the Prescott Valley Police Department at 928-772-9261 or through their website at prescottvalley-az.gov.
