Prescott Police arrested an area man after he was held on the ground by a neighbor with a handgun, after the suspect attempted to break into a home Saturday night. Officers were called to the home on the 600 block of Eastwood Drive at around 10:15 p.m. When they arrived they saw 25-year-old Adrian Marquez of Prescott lying on the ground, with the neighbor of the victim pointing a gun at him. It all started when the victim was inside his home when he heard noises coming from his entry door by his garage. The victim was able to see the male suspect jiggling his door handle and attempting to get in. The victim opened the door onto the suspect knocking him to the ground. The victim began to yell for someone to call 911, which got the attention of one of his neighbors. The neighbor grabbed a handgun from inside his home and went to assist the victim. The two were able to detain the Marquez until officers arrived on scene and took him into custody. Marquez, who was extremely intoxicated, was taken into custody without further incident. He was later booked into Yavapai County Jail for attempted burglary, criminal trespass, and criminal damage. His intentions for attempting to enter the residence are unknown.
