Prescott Police Arrest a Man in Connection with a Hit and Run Accident

Prescott Police have arrested a man in connection with a hit-and-run accident Wednesday morning in Prescott. Officials say a white Dodge four-door long bed truck hit a woman walking her dog on the sidewalk in the 700-block of White Spar Road at around 6:50 a.m. After the initial collision, the driver of the truck backed up and alongside the woman. The driver, 25-year-old Francisco Nino from Phoenix, then turned around and left the scene. Then at around 1:30 p.m. a Prescott Police investigator saw the suspect vehicle in a parking lot at 1245 East Gurley Street. Officers detained the driver. Investigators located damage on the truck consistent with the collision. The man admitted his involvement and was taken into custody. The 36-year-old woman was taken to Yavapai Regional Medical Center and was later flown to a Phoenix area hospital, where her condition has been upgraded to serious but stable condition. The victim’s dog didn’t sustain any injuries from the incident and is being cared for by a family member. Nino has been charged with failing to stop or provide aid in a serious accident, a felony, duty to provide information or assistance, another felony and a misdemeanor charge.
