Pinal County Sheriff Mark Lamb is the first Republican to announce a run for U.S. Senate in 2024. Lamb has been the sheriff of Pinal County since 2017 and lists his priorities as securing the border, combating cartels and fentanyl poisoning, unleashing the American economy, defending life, quality education, protecting Second Amendment rights, supporting law enforcement, standing up to China, supporting veterans, and election reform. If the sheriff makes it through the primary, he would likely face incumbent Senator Kyrsten Sinema, who would run as an independent and likely Democratic Congressman Ruben Gallego, who announced his campaign earlier this year. After Lamb announced, Gallego sent out a statement saying, “Mark Lamb is just another TV personality trying to cash in. I’m in this race to serve the people of Arizona.” Should be an interesting campaign going into the 2024 election season.
