An American Airlines flight from Phoenix to Flagstaff had to turn around and land back at Sky Harbor Airport this morning. Flight 4949’s pilot made the decision to go back to Phoenix shortly after take off just before 10 a.m., due to a possible mechanical issue with the aircraft. After a nearly five hour delay, the flight was able to complete the flight, landing in Flagstaff at around 3:20 p.m.
