A pedestrian was killed after being struck by a vehicle in Cottonwood Thursday night. Police say the accident took place at the intersection of Birch and Main streets. Officials say a 42-year-old began crossing the street, without activating the crossing light. At that moment, a vehicle traveling south on Main Street, hit the pedestrian. First responders were called and tried to treat the victim, but the person was pronounced dead at the scene. There were two people inside the vehicle at the time of the accident and both were given field sobriety tests. No signs of impairment were detected. The driver fully cooperated with law enforcement. The accident remains under investigation.
