Pair Of Pile Burns Are Set To Ignite Wednesday South Of Flagstaff

Coconino National Forest fire managers plan to conduct two pile burns this week south of Flagstaff. The first is the Horse Park pile burn, which consists of around 12-hundred acres of slash piles just north of Munds Park. The second is the Willard Springs pile burn, which is four acres worth of forest debris and grass within the Willard Springs Pit, just west of Interstate-17 near the Willard Springs Exit. Smoke may impact areas such as Mountainaire, Kachina Village and I-17 as it moves to the north/northeast. The burns are expected to last from Wednesday through Friday.
