A Louisiana man was struck and killed on Highway 89 at the Flagstaff Mall Saturday night. Flagstaff Police say at around 8:27 p.m. the vehicle was traveling northbound approaching the intersection of Highway 89 and North Cummings Street in the number three lane, closest to the sidewalk, when the vehicle struck Clinton Brown. Witnesses told police the vehicle had a green light at the intersection as it hit Brown, who was not in a crosswalk at the time and was crossing the road from the west. Life-saving measures were performed on Brown, but he was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and was cooperative with law enforcement and the investigation. The accident closed Highway 89 in both directions, forcing traffic down Test Drive and Route 66.
