Northern Arizona Is Ready To Ring In 2024 With Many Celebrations New Year’s Eve

There are quite a few New Years celebrations to partake in New Years Eve. In Flagstaff, it’s the annual Pinecone Drop in downtown Flagstaff. The fun will take place at the historic Weatherford Hotel, as a giant pinecone will be lowered to celebrate the new year. There are three scheduled drops. One at noon New Years Eve Day, a second at 10 p.m. and the final one at midnight. Flagstaff’s Mountain Line will be offering free bus rides on New Year’s Eve to help people get around safely. In Prescott it’s the annual Whiskey Row Boot Drop. That’s when a six-foot illuminated boot is lowered from The Palace’s flag pole from 40-feet in the air. There are two drops, one at 10 p.m. and the second at midnight. Fireworks will accompany both drops. The fun starts at 7:30 in downtown Prescott. And in Show Low it’s the Deuce of Clubs drop. That’s when a three-foot-by-five-foot two of clubs is lowered at midnight. The card signifies how the city of Show Low got it’s name, when two cowboys decided to settle their differences in a game of Seven Up. Whoever drew the lowest card, won the land where the town sits. The winner drew a Deuce of Clubs to win. That is also the name of Show Low’s main street. If you are going out to celebrate the new year, please be safe.
