The Coconino County Elections Department conducted the grand opening of the new Elections Center in Flagstaff Monday. Arizona Secretary of State Adrian Fontes and other local dignitaries attended the ribbon cutting ceremony on at 18-hundred West University, Suite 180. The new center was built to allow all Elections Department staff to work under one roof. It pulls inspiration from the Arizona Secretary of State and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security by prioritizing accessibility, security in the administration of elections and transparency. To show their commitment to transparency, windows have been installed so the tabulation process is visible to observers. County officials say “the new facility helps uphold the core values of democracy and empowers our community to make a meaningful impact through their vote.” For more information, visit coconino.az.gov/Elections.
