The NAU Lumberjacks women’s basketball team trailed by 17 late in the third quarter and went on a 16-2 run to get to within three, but it wasn’t enough as they fell to the UNLV Rebels, 85-69, Wednesday at the Rolle Activity Center. After NAU caught up, UNLV went on a 14-2 run of their own to put the game away. Leia Battie and Emily Rodabaugh led the Jacks with 13 points each. UNLV shot 48-percent from the field and a blistering 53-percent from three point range. NAU shot 41-percent from the field and 33-percent from three. The loss snapped the Jacks’ four game winning streak, while UNLV improved its record to 7-0. NAU will be back at home at the Rolle Activity Center for a Wednesday day game against the Pacific Tigers. Tip time is at noon.
