NAU vice president of intercollegiate athletics Mike Marlow received a five-year contract extension Friday. The new deal was approved by the Arizona Board of Regents. NAU President Jose Luis Cruz Rivera says “Mike Marlow and his team have led our athletics program to prominence at the national, state, conference and community level over the past five years.” He adds, “His integrity and dedication to the best interests of our student-athletes has brought us back-to-back Big Sky Presidents’ Cup awards, recognizing NAU as the best athletic program in the conference for academic and athletic success.” Under his watch, NAU has won four cross country national championships, 46 conference titles, led upgrades on the Skydome and the construction of a $47-million athletic performance center. Marlow is under contract until 2028.
