NAU Sweeps Idaho In Men’s And Women’s Basketball Thursday

The NAU men’s and women’s basketball teams each beat the Idaho Vandals Thursday. The Jacks led Idaho 35-21 at halftime en route to a 65-53 win. Sophie Glancey led the Jacks with 23 points and nine rebounds and Olivia Moran and Leia Beattie each scored 11 points in the win. NAU improves to 5-1 in the Big Sky and will face Big Sky-leading Eastern Washington Saturday in the Skydome. The Eagles are 16-3 overall and 6-0 in the conference. Saturday’s tip time is at 2 p.m. The NAU men trailed by ten in the first half, but went on two nice runs to lead at halftime 38-36. Idaho wouldn’t lead again as the Jacks outscored the Vandals in the second half, 37-24 to win 75-60 at Idaho. Four Lumberjacks scored in double-figures with Trent McLaughlin leading NAU in scoring with 25 points. Oakland Fort had a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds and Carson Basham scored 17 points and grabbed six rebounds in the win. NAU improves to 10-10 on the season and 3-3 in the Big Sky. They will head to Cheney, Washington Saturday to take on the first-place Eastern Washington Eagles, who are 6-0 in conference this season. Tip time is at 2 p.m.
