The NAU women’s basketball team snapped its three game losing streak with a 76-65 win over the Southern Utah Thunderbirds Saturday at the Rolle Activity Center. NAU trailed 21-16 after the first quarter, then the Lumberjacks went on a 17-2 run in the second quarter, outscoring the Thunderbirds 17-6 in the second quarter to take a 33-27 lead at halftime. Both teams had runs in the third quarter, but NAU maintain its lead over the Thunderbirds 54-50. NAU extended its lead in the fourth quarter to get the win. Freshman Sophie Glancey and senior Regan Schenck each scored 15 points. Schenck also pulled down eight rebounds and had seven assists for the Jacks. The NAU women will head back on the road with a three-game road trip to California. They will be back in action Thursday night as they battle the Fresno State Bulldogs in Fresno. Tip time is at 7 p.m.
