NAU President Jose Luis Cruz Rivera Elected To The American Academy Of Arts And Sciences

Northern Arizona University President José Luis Cruz Rivera was one of 250 intellectual and educational leaders elected to the American Academy of Arts & Sciences in 2024. He joins actor, director and philanthropist George Clooney, Apple CEO Tim Cook and many others in their election this year. AAAS membership has included Albert Einstein, Alexander Hamilton, Margaret Mead, Martin Luther King, Jr, Madeleine Albright, John Legend and Salman Rushdie. During his tenure at NAU, he has advanced numerous initiatives to deliver equitable postsecondary value, including the redesign of the university’s pricing and admissions policies, building a statewide attainment ecosystem to serve the people of Arizona and launching NAU Health.
