The NAU men’s basketball team played with a chip on their shoulder as they led start to finish as they blew out Sacramento State in the Skydome Thursday night, 77-55. Jalen Cone was on fire. He led the Lumberjacks with 25 points, on seven-of-ten shooting from three point range. In the game, Cone passed the 1,000-point mark as a Lumberjack. Cone has over 14-hundred career points during his career at NAU and Virginia Tech. He passed the NAU milestone in just over a season and a half. Nik Mains added 17 points and nine rebounds and Xavier Fuller chipped in with 11 points in the win. The Jacks shot a white-hot 56-percent from three point range on 15-of-27 shooting. NAU held Sacramento State to 38-percent shooting from the field. The Jacks hope to build on the win when they take on Portland State Saturday afternoon in the Skydome. Tip time is at 2 p.m.
