NAU Outscored 28-12 In The Fourth Quarter As They Fell To South Dakota, 79-65 In The Women’s NIT Tuesday

The NAU women’s basketball team led for most of the game, but a 28-12 fourth quarter by South Dakota carried the Coyotes to a 79-65 win over the Lumberjacks in the second round of the Women’s NIT. Leia Beattie led the Jacks with 19 points and seven rebounds and hit five three-pointers and Sophie Glancey added 13 in the loss. NAU led 37-31 at halftime and 53-51 after three, but it was the fourth quarter that ended the season. Grace Larkins led the Coyotes with 34 points and 12 rebounds. NAU was 5-of-6 at the free throw line, but South Dakota was 27-of-28. The Jacks finish their season with a 25-10 record. South Dakota advances on to the Super 16 to play Wyoming in the next round.
