NAU Men’s Basketball To Open Its Season At National Champ UConn, Women To Open At Oregon

The NAU men’s and women’s basketball teams announced their basketball schedules Wednesday for the 2023-24 season. The men will have a tough task right out of the game. The Lumberjacks will travel to Storrs, Connecticut Sunday, November 6th to take on the defending national champion UConn Huskies. NAU men’s basketball coach Shane Burcar says “it’s a privilege to us to open up the college basketball season where they will hang a national championship banner and our guys will get to see it.” Burcar adds, “to lose in the Big Sky Championship and miss the NCAA Tournament by seven points and then to play your next regular season game against UCONN is exactly the experience that these guys want to elevate their game at NAU basketball.” The Jacks will also play at Grand Canyon, at Hawaii and in Phoenix in the Arizona Tip-Off against Purdue Fort Wayne and either VMI or South Dakota. NAU will host SAGU for an exhibition game November 2nd. The women will open their season also on Sunday, November 6th in Eugene, Oregon against the Oregon Ducks. They will also play in Tucson against the Arizona Wildcats, they will host UNLV, Pacific and South Dakota State before Big Sky play begins. To see both schedules head to nauathletics.com.
