NAU Men’s Basketball Falls At Sixth-Ranked UConn To Open The 2023-24 Regular Season

The NAU men’s basketball team opened its 2023-24 regular season in Connecticut against the defending national champion, and sixth-ranked, UConn Huskies. UConn led start to finish to beat the Lumberjacks 95-52. The Jacks were led by junior guard Liam Lloyd, who scored 15 points, grabbed six rebounds and dished out five assists in defeat. The Huskies were led by Alex Karaban who scored 22 points in the win. UConn shot 56-percent from the field, while NAU shot 34-percent from the floor. NAU will be back in action Sunday afternoon in Phoenix, as they take on the Grand Canyon Antelopes at GCU Arena. Tip time is at 3:30 p.m.
