NAU Men Play Tough Defense To Beat Portland State Thursday, 84-65

The NAU men’s basketball team got out of the gates using tough defense and intensity as they beat the Portland State Vikings, 84-65 Thursday night in the Skydome. Carson Basham had a double-double with a career-high 23 points, he grabbed ten rebounds and blocked a career-high six shots to lead the Lumberjacks to the win. Trent McLaughlin added 19 points and Oakland Fort had 15 points and nine rebounds in the win. NAU had just six turnovers in the game, while the Vikings had 15. NAU will host the Sacramento State Hornets Saturday afternoon in the Skydome. Tip time is at 2 p.m.
