The NAU Lumberjacks struggled from the start and just couldn’t get it going as they fell to the Big Sky unbeaten Eastern Washington Eagles, 72-55, Thursday in Cheney, Washington. Carson Towt and Jalen Cone led the Jacks with 12 points. NAU shot 39-percent, while the Eagles shot 53-percent from the field. The Jacks were outrebounded 40-23 in the game. NAU will take on the Idaho Vandals Saturday. Tip time is at 1 p.m. The NAU women used a 7-0 run over the final 3:08 to play to beat Eastern Washington 61-55. Regan Schenck led the Jacks with 20 points and Fatoumata Jaiteh had a double double with 11 points and 12 rebounds in the win. NAU remains a game-and-a-half behind Montana State for the top spot in the conference. The Jacks will host Idaho Saturday in the Skydome, tip time is at 1 p.m.
