Northern Arizona University is looking for a new head football coach. NAU Director of Athletics Mike Marlow announced Monday that head coach Chris Ball’s contract would not be renewed. Ball concluded his fifth season as NAU head coach Saturday with a road win against Eastern Washington, 49-42. NAU finished 5-6 overall and 5-3 in the Big Sky Conference. This season was Ball’s last under his contract. He came to Flagstaff in 2019 after being defensive coordinator at the University of Memphis. Under Ball, NAU was 20-30. NAU says they will conduct a national search for a new head coach, which will begin immediately and says they won’t provide further comment on the search until it is completed.
