The NAU football team will have to wait until the spring to play their season opener. The Big Sky Conference announced Friday that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, they are suspending the 2020 football season and moving it to the spring. The conference has begun exploring modified versions of a conference schedule, and are reviewing possible non-conference games. The conference says the health and safety of the students is their top priority. There will be at least eight conference games and possible non-conference games. There’s no word on when a season would start. Other fall sports were pushed back to September start dates.
