NAU Football Hires New Defensive Coordinator Just In Time For The New Season

The NAU Football program has a new defensive coordinator. With over a month left until the Lumberjacks season opener, Chris Ball announced Friday that NAU has hired Kevin Clune as the team’s new defensive coordinator and linebackers coach. Clune comes to Flagstaff from BYU, where he was the linebackers coach in Provo from 2021 until 2022. He has also been the defensive coordinator at Oregon State, Utah State, Hawaii, Weber State and Southern Utah. Clune has coached in ten bowl games and coached with Ball when the two were at Memphis. Clune replaces Jerry Partridge, who is the new assistant head coach and safeties coach at the University of Tennessee-Martin.
