NAU Football Continues Spring Practices Under New Head Coach Brian Wright

The NAU Lumberjacks went through another scrimmage Saturday as they wrap up Spring football practices. It was the Jacks’ second scrimmage this Spring with a lot of new faces in camp. Both offense and defense were spirited, communication with coaches was good and there were no injuries. All four quarterbacks, Angel Flores, transfer Ty Pennington, Kai Milner and P.J. London all looked comfortable behind center. Head coach Brian Wright says all four quarterbacks have looked good. “All four of those guys we have right now are just fantastic young men. They compete, they work with each other, they help each other and it’s a lot of fun to be around them.” Wright isn’t naming a starter but says, “it’s really been a close competition all spring.” Flores has starting experience for NAU as does Kai Milner, while Pennington comes to NAU as the starting QB at Pittsburg State, where Wright last coached. London has been with the program the longest, serving as a scout team quarterback. The Jacks will have another couple of days of practice in Flagstaff then they will end camp in Phoenix with a scrimmage at Mountain Pointe High School Saturday.
