NAU Football Celebrated Victory Day Friday In The Skydome

The NAU Football program held its first “Victory Day” Friday in the Skydome. Members of the team spent time with members of Special Olympics. Each Olympian was paired with a member of the Lumberjack football team. The athletes went through football drills, ran through player created tunnel and worked on their touchdown dances. NAU football head coach Brian Wright says this was something his team did when he was a coach at the University of Toledo, and has carried on this tradition to every school he has been since. Players had lunch with the athletes and took a group picture at the end. Wright says this will be a tradition at NAU every spring going forward.
