The Idaho Vandals used ball control offense and a tough defense to knock off the NAU Lumberjacks Saturday, 27-10 on Findlay Toyota Field in the Skydome. The Vandals used ball-control offense and a stingy defense to get the win. The Vandals had the ball on offense for over 38-minutes of the game and didn’t turn the ball over. Draycen Hall had 14 carries for 64 yards and R.J. Martinez was 15-of-34 for 127 yards with a touchdown and an interception. For Idaho, quarterback Gevani McCoy was 18-of-20 for 184 yards and a touchdown and Anthony Woods had 18 carries for 84 yards in the win. Idaho had 399 total yards to 184 for NAU. It’s the first 0-2 start at home for NAU since 1955. The Jacks will try and rebound next Saturday as they travel to Portland, Oregon to take on the Portland State Vikings. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
