The NAU Lumberjacks trailed 13-3 at halftime, but North Dakota put together a couple of long, pounding drives to pull away for a 37-22 win Saturday in Grand Forks. NAU had 445 yards of total offense and led most of the stat categories, but North Dakota had the ball for about nine minutes more than NAU. Quarterback Kai Milner had his best game as a Lumberjack going 20-for-33 for 258 yards and two touchdowns. He also NAU’s leading rusher with 14 carries for 83 yards and a touchdown to lead NAU. Running back Devon Starling added 78 yards on 15 carries in the loss. NAU falls to 0-2 on the season and will take on the Utah Tech Trailblazers in the Lumberjacks home opener Saturday. Kickoff is at 1 p.m.
