NAU Beats Northern Colorado In The Regular Season Dome Finale Saturday

The NAU Lumberjacks scored first and never looked back as they beat the Northern Colorado Bears, 28-7, Saturday in the last home game of the regular season in the Skydome. Freshman quarterback Angel Flores was 18-of-22 for 167 yards and a touchdown. He also had 13 carries for 33 yards and a touchdown in the win. Freshman wide receiver B.J. Fleming had three catches for 71 yards for NAU. In the game, senior wide receiver Hendrix Johnson broke the NAU all-time receptions record with 202. The running back pair of Devon Starling and Chase Belcher combined for 145 yards rushing and a touchdown. The Lumberjacks outgained Northern Colorado 428-245. The win was the first for NAU against a non-ranked team this season. They were previously 0-and-3. NAU improves to 4-6 overall and 4-3 in the Big Sky Conference. The Bears fall to 0-9 on the season. The Lumberjacks will finish the regular season on the road as they had to Cheney, Washington to take on the Eastern Washington Eagles next Saturday. Kickoff is set for 2 p.m.
