NAH To Build A New Outpatient Medical Center At The Current Location Of The Former Summit Center In Flagstaff

Northern Arizona Healthcare will be building a new outpatient surgery center in Flagstaff, at the location of the former Summit Center. The building is located at 1485 North Turquoise Drive. The complex will include a 27,600 square foot ambulatory surgery center, with six operating rooms and two pain procedure rooms, as well as 32 pre-op and patient care area bays. The complex will also be home to a 47-hundred square foot wound and hyperbaric clinic, a 14,800 square foot orthopedic and neurology clinic and a 52-hundred square foot “EntireCare” rehab and sports medicine physical therapy clinic. The plan also will also include a six-thousand square foot addition to the existing building. NAH officials say consideration for the environment will be taken at every step in the development to ensure that the building will be more sustainable and energy efficient than it is now. NAH CEO Dave Cheney says “we have heard our community’s concerns about keeping some health care services in a central location within Flagstaff. He adds, “we want to invest in the community, and that includes investing in our facilities that will help us recruit new staff. Therefore, we decided to renovate an existing NAH-owned building for an expanded outpatient surgery center. We know that these new facilities will help meet the needs of the patients and communities we serve.” The projected timeline for the project includes final design and permit completed this year, with construction completed by January of 2026, with the first patients by July of 2026.
