Lightning-Caused Miller Fire Near Sedona Is Now 31-Percent Contained

The lightning-caused Miller Fire, burning in the Secret Mountain Wilderness near Sedona, is now 31-percent contained. Fire officials adjusted the acres burned to 30 acres and is showing subdued fire behavior with no growth. Along with checking fire lines, firefighters have spent the last three operational days scouting the area and collecting future intelligence regarding access routes, staging areas and helicopter landing sites. The information collected now will help in the future event of another wildfire in the Secret Mountain Wilderness area. A Type Three team has been managing the fire, however they have transferred management of the fire back to the Coconino National Forest.
