Flagstaff’s Maddie Shafer was named Big Sky soccer Co-Offensive Player of the Week Tuesday.  Shafer led the Jacks to their first win of the regular season against, UTEP in Texas.  With a 3-2 victory, NAU’s senior forward recorded an assist along with the game-winning goal.  After opening weekend, Shafer now sits in second in the Big Sky in points with three total while averaging 70 minutes per game. Shafer ended the 2022 season at the top of the conference leaderboard in points, finishing the season with 16.  The honor is Shafer’s fourth of her career.  NAU begins a three-game homestand Friday, taking on Cal-State Bakersfield.  The game starts at 7 p.m.
