Flagstaff High School didn’t have to go far to get their new boys varsity basketball coach. The school announced Friday that they hired former Coconino High School girls varsity coach Martin Reyes as the next coach of the Eagles. Reyes isn’t a stranger to coaching the guys. He spent ten years as a boys basketball coach, before coaching the Panthers girls team. Reyes is a Coconino graduate and was a member of the Panthers’ 1989 state runner-up basketball team. Flagstaff athletic director Jeannine Brandel says “we are looking forward to introducing him to the community and are excited for the 2023-24 season.”
