Flagstaff Gets Second Straight Win With A 35-6 Win Over Copper Canyon Friday

The Flagstaff Eagles went to Phoenix for the second straight week and came back with their second straight win Friday night. The Eagles got on the board early and often en route to a 35-6 win over Copper Canyon. The Eagles were led by junior running back Jaydon Wetzel, who rushed for 146 yards on 13 carries with a touchdown, which came on an 80 yard run. Sophomore quarterback Chase Brown had one of his best outings of the season, going 10-of-14 for 160 yards and three touchdowns, two of which went to junior wide receiver Chase Carlson. Senior wide receiver Tyler McGill had the other touchdown catch in the win. The Eagles are 2-3 overall and begin Grand Canyon Region play Friday, in the Skydome, against the Mingus Marauders. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
