The Flagstaff Eagles ran into a stingy defense Saturday night as they fell to the Mingus Marauders in the Skydome, 29-10. Mingus held Flagstaff to minus-10 yards rushing, if you factor in sacks of quarterback Chase Brown. Jayden Wetzel was held to 36 yards on 15 carries. Mingus senior running back Mikey Grijalva rushed for 191 yards and a touchdown, but left the game with an ankle injury. Seth Bruland also carried the ball well for Mingus, as he rushed for 84 yards on 13 carries and scored three touchdowns. The Eagles did create five Mingus turnovers, but couldn’t get the win. Flagstaff will look to get their first Grand Canyon Region win Friday night when they head to Prescott to take on the Badgers.
