The Flagstaff City Council Approves Recycling Management Contract With Friedman Recycling Company

The Flagstaff City Council approved a short-term contract with Friedman Recycling Company Tuesday, which will provide the city with recycling services for at least the next six months. Services in the agreement include the necessary equipment, transportation, processing and recovery of recyclable materials in Flagstaff. The term of the agreement includes two possible three month extensions. Friedman will provide compactors and containers to be loaded by city staff at the Recycling Transfer Facility, and then taken to Phoenix by Friedman employees. During the next few months, council will continue to look for a long-term solution for recycling services. No changes have been made as to what materials will be accepted for recycling by the city. Anyone with questions related to recycling services can email solidwastesolutions@flagstaffaz.gov or call 928-213-2110.
