Flagstaff Boys Fall To St. Mary’s At Home 91-71, Flagstaff Girls Beat St. Mary’s On The Road Friday Night

The Flagstaff eagles took on the St. Mary’s Knights in boys basketball at home Friday night. The Knights got out to a 23-12 first quarter lead, but couldn’t pull away completely until midway through the third quarter as they beat Flagstaff 91-71. The Eagles held future Grand Canyon Antelope guard Styles Phipps to just four points in the first half, however Phipps would score the first six points of the third quarter en route to a 20 point second half, finishing with 24 points. Sophomore forward Cameron Williams added 18 points in the win for St. Mary’s. Jake Centner led Flagstaff with 21 points, however 11 Eagles scored at least a point in the loss. Flagstaff will play its third game in three days Saturday evening when they travel to Footprint Center in downtown Phoenix to play AZ College Prep. The Flagstaff Eagles girls team went to Phoenix Friday to play St. Mary’s. The Eagles outscored the Knights 25-7 in the first quarter and never looked back as they beat the Knights, 75-59. The Coconino Panthers boys basketball team rebounded from a tough loss to Prescott Thursday night to beat Peoria Friday night at home, 54-34.
