DPS Arrests A Man Near Holbrook After Seizing Over 34 Pounds Of Fentanyl Pills

Arizona Department of Public Safety state troopers seized over 34 pounds of “M30” fentanyl pills during a traffic stop Tuesday on eastbound Interstate-40 just east of Holbrook. DPS pulled the car over at around 6:33 p.m.. State troopers then asked Winslow Police if they could sent their narcotic certified K-9 to the scene, after the driver refused a search. The Winslow K-9 officer arrived on the scene just after 7 p.m. and conducted a “free air sniff” around the vehicle. The dog alerted officers to an area where they found a large amount of fentanyl pills. The pills weighed just over 34 pounds and had a street value of just over $780-thousand. The driver was the only one in the vehicle and was arrested on multiple drug-related charges.
