Daytime Full Closures And Single-Lane Restrictions For Highway 89A In Oak Creek Canyon Starting Monday

The Arizona Department of Transportation is planning to have daytime full closures and lane restrictions in both directions on State Route 89A in Oak Creek Canyon starting Monday and running through June 7th. The closure is for repair work from a rockfall event in March of 2023. Closures will start at 5 a.m. and last until 5 p.m. each day. The highway will open one lane of alternating travel in both directions starting at 5 p.m. until 5 a.m. Drivers should expect delays up to 15 minutes. To avoid the area, southbound drivers can take Interstate-17 to the Sedona Exit to get to Sedona. For those that need to go north to Flagstaff, or parts in between, they can take State Route 179 to I-17 then north to Flagstaff.
