Jalen Cone hit his fourth three-pointer of the game with 16-seconds to play and with strong defense in the final moments, NAU beat the Montana Grizzlies 75-74 Thursday night in the Skydome. Cone led the Jacks with 26 points and eight rebounds, 20 points coming in the second half and in overtime. Carson Towt had 17 points and Liam Lloyd added 13 in the win in coach Shane Burcar’s 100th game as head coach of the Lumberjacks. Josh Bannan led Montana with 20 points, but was held to just six points in the second half and in overtime. It was NAU’s third overtime game in their last five games and the win snapped the Jacks’ four-game losing streak. NAU will try to build on the win, when they take on the Montana State Bobcats Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. in the Skydome.
